Rental Terms and Safety Guarantees

At Cabrio Republic™, we believe that the perfect journey begins with trust and transparency. We adhere to high service standards to ensure you feel safe and can enjoy every kilometer of Sardinia’s roads.

1. Driver Requirements

To ensure safety and comply with insurance terms, the following requirements apply:

• Age: 21+ years (25+ for certain models).
• Driving Experience: At least 2 years.
• Documents: A valid driver’s license (International Driving Permit required for non-EU citizens) and a passport/ID card.

2. Verification and Security Policy

We value our unique car collection and our clients’ safety.

Please note: In accordance with international standards, all provided documents and bank cards undergo thorough multi-level verification. We use modern identity verification systems to guarantee the legal integrity of every transaction. Cabrio Republic™ reserves the right to refuse a rental at the document verification stage without providing a reason.

3. Deposit and Refund Guarantee

We guarantee a fair and transparent process for handling security deposits:

• Transparent Deposit: The deposit amount is blocked on your credit card or accepted via an official PayPal proforma invoice at the moment of vehicle handover.
• Fast Refund: We unblock the deposit on your card or issue an instant PayPal refund directly at the moment of vehicle return (provided there is no damage and all contract terms are met).
• Payment Methods: We accept personalized credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) registered in the name of the primary driver, or verified PayPal accounts.

4. Insurance and Video Recording

Your peace of mind is our priority. All vehicles carry insurance coverage, and in the event of an incident, your liability is limited to the deductible (the security deposit amount).

• Honesty Guarantee: Before the rental begins, we conduct a joint inspection of the vehicle with mandatory video recording. The video recording file is immediately sent to the client via WhatsApp for confirmation. This protects you from any claims regarding pre-existing defects and makes the pick-up process absolutely transparent.

Important Information: Voiding of Protection Packages

Even the maximum GOLD and SILVER protection packages are designed exclusively to cover unforeseen road situations and accidents. They do not cover gross negligence, extreme driving, intentional violations of the rules, or reckless treatment of the property.

If any of the following violations are detected, the insurance coverage is completely voided, and the vehicle may be forcibly repossessed from the client at any time without any refund of the rental fees or the security deposit:

• Leaving the convertible with the roof open: It is strictly forbidden to leave the vehicle unattended on any parking lot or street with the top down. In the event of a violation of this rule, as well as in case of interior damage caused by weather conditions (precipitation, sun) or third parties, the client shall be held fully liable.
• Transportation of animals: It is strictly prohibited to transport any animals in our vehicles. If traces of animal transportation or damage to the interior are found (scratches on the leather, snags, fur, odor), the protection is voided, and the client shall fully pay for the interior restoration and professional dry cleaning.
• Aggressive driving: Drifting (power sliding), using launch control (active start from a standstill), burnouts (warming up/spinning tires), and any other actions leading to extreme wear of the tires and vehicle components are strictly prohibited.
• Speeding: Exceeding the established speed limits on the roads of Sardinia.
• Transfer of control to third parties: Handing over the driving of the vehicle to any person not officially included in the rental agreement.
• Unsafe vehicle storage: At night, the vehicle must be parked exclusively in secured areas, closed parking garages, or dedicated well-lit parking lots. The renter is obliged to ensure maximum security of the vehicle when choosing a parking space.
• Driving off public roads: Any trips off-road, on unpaved or unmarked roads, beaches, or restricted areas. Damage to the suspension, wheel rims, or bodywork sustained off asphalt roads is always paid for by the client.
• Damage from vegetation: Scratches and chips caused by careless driving into thick bushes or under low tree branches (for example, on narrow country roads leading to wild beaches).
• Leaving the scene of an accident: If the primary renter or the second driver listed in the agreement fled the scene of an accident, failed to call the police, or failed to fill out the mandatory European accident statement (Constatazione Amichevole / CAI).
• Incorrect refueling: Engine breakdowns caused by refueling with the wrong type of fuel.
• Commercial use: Using the vehicle for commercial purposes (sublease, taxi, filming without prior approval).
• Gross violations of the law: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, running red lights, or driving in the oncoming lane.

In the event that the protection is voided for any of the above reasons, the client undertakes to fully reimburse the cost of the vehicle repair, its towing, as well as the company’s loss of profit for the entire duration of the vehicle’s downtime.

5. Rules of Use and Care

To preserve the aesthetics and exclusive condition of our convertibles, we kindly ask you to adhere to the following rules:

• The Roof: The renter bears personal responsibility for closing the roof in a timely manner during rain and always when parking in public areas.
• Cleanliness and Animals: Smoking (including e-cigarettes) and the transportation of animals are strictly prohibited in our vehicles. We preserve a fresh aroma for every single guest. In the event of a violation, a substantial penalty fee will be applied for deep, specialized interior dry cleaning.
• Road Surface: Our vehicles are designed exclusively for paved asphalt roads. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.

6. Fuel, Mileage, and Fines

• Fuel: We operate on a Full-to-Full basis. You receive the vehicle with a full tank and return it in the same condition. If you do not have time to refuel the vehicle before returning it, our manager will do it for you. In this case, the cost of the missing fuel, along with a fixed refueling service fee of 20 €, will be deducted from your security deposit.
• Mileage: Unlimited kilometers per day are included.
• Fines: The renter is fully responsible for traffic violations. If a fine (speeding, ZTL zones, etc.) arrives after the rental, we provide your details to the Polizia Municipale/Stradale, who will then reissue the fine directly to your home address.

Important: All our vehicles run on petrol (gasoline). Using diesel fuel voids the insurance and makes the renter fully liable for engine repairs.
